Spears YMCA Expansion

The Spears Family Y announces our ground-breaking ceremony tomorrow, January 8 at 11:00 am. We’ll post photos as we prepare for this exciting event at the Spears facility!  Speaking will be Gil Vaughan, chair of the Spears Y board, and Gary Rogers, chair of the Greensboro Y’s metro board.  Come see finalized drawings, and learn about our new “Work Out and Win” member contest!

In 2009, Spears YMCA will be THE place for our current and new members with a $2 million dollar expansion. We’re adding new areas, such as a huge Aerobics room (over 2,000 square feet) and expanding current fitness areas. We’re changing the entrance to allow for a greater space for staff and member interaction. We’re adding a new 1,500 square foot Health and Wellness area, renovating our child watch areas, and even expanding our teen center by almost 1,500 feet. In all, it’s going to be a great facility – THE place for our members!
